MBBP’s corporate partner Scott Bleier moderated our VC group’s event, “Series A Venture Capital Financing: A Review of 2016 and a Look Forward to M08465002017″ at the Cambridge Innovation Center on Thursday, February 2nd. Scott led our panel of VC and angel investors through a series of critical questions regarding raising capital. Additionally, the presentation included a review of 2016 Series A financing activity and preferred stock terms, and a forecast of financing activity for 2017.

MBBP to host a panel of experienced deal makers who will provide an insider’s perspective on what it takes to successfully position a venture backed company for sale and get a deal done. These panelists include Brady BohrmannTed Gillick, and Douglas Melsheimer. They all represent unique perspectives of a buyer, seller, and banker and each bring years of experience in venture-backed M&A.

Topics that will be addressed include positioning your company for a successful exit, various stakeholders in an M&A transaction, buyers assessing strategic fit, and best practices to ensure a smooth transaction and done deal.

On February 2nd, MBBP hosted a VC event at the Cambridge Innovation Center which involved a review of 2011 Series “A” deals as well as a look into 2012 with an impressive panel of leading venture capital partners who discussed:

  • Where are pre-money valuations headed?
  • Will there be an increase in the competition for deals?
  • How will the interaction between angels and venture funds change in 2012?
  • What sectors will be hot in 2012 and which will not?

MBBP invites you to a complimentary series that will cover the basics of starting and growing a life sciences company. The seminar series, “The ABC’s for Life Sciences Entrepreneurs: From Start-up to Exit” will kick off on March 23, 2010, and will be held at the Cambridge Innovation Center located at One Broadway, Cambridge, MA. Each session will run from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, and will present an opportunity for attendees to participate in an engaging and interactive discussion on a variety of topics.

This 4-part series will focus on legal and business issues specific to life sciences companies.
