At the Children’s National 6th Annual Pediatric Device Symposium, MBBP client Design Mentor, Inc. was awarded a $25,000 grant for presenting its innovative medical device, VentriFlo, that addresses significant unmet needs in pediatric healthcare at the “Make Your Medical Device Pitch for Kids!” competition.
VentriFlo is an extracorporeal blood pump for short-term cardiopulmonary support of pediatric open-heart surgery patients requiring full or partial cardiopulmonary bypass. VentriFlo was selected along with five other winners from a field of eleven finalists, with a total of 45 national and international device submissions received. The grant is awarded in order to help bring the pediatric medical device to market faster.
