Carl Barnes Begins Second Year as Co-Chair of BBA Securities Law Committee

Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton partner Carl Barnes has begun the second year of a two-year term as co-chair of the Securities Law Committee of the Business Transactions section of the Boston Bar Association. On October 4, the Committee kicked off the year with a brown bag lunch featuring a discussion of new Securities and Exchange Commission rules permitting general solicitations in certain private placements under Rule 506 of Regulation D and rules prohibiting felons and other “bad actors” from participating in Rule 506 private placements. The discussion was led by Stanley Keller and Richard Kimball of Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP. Carl also served as co-chair of the BBA’s Corporate Law Committee from May 2003 to 2005.
