On June 9th, AlwaysOn Networking released their list of the 2010 AlwaysOn East Top 100 Companies. This list represents the top emerging companies on the East Coast that are “demonstrating significant market traction and pursuing game-changing technologies in on-demand computing, digital media, and greentech.” Featured on the AOE100 list are four MBBP clients:
LeoStream Corporation provides critical connection broker technology for delivering virtual desktop solutions.
Citysquares Online, Inc. provides small, independent businesses the ability to reach a qualified, local consumer audience through a search engine optimized profile on it’s highly trafficked, consumer-facing website.
Viximo, Inc. provides solutions to publishers (social networks, dating sites, gaming sites, etc) and content creators (brands, media, digital artists) that drive revenue and engagement.
Pixtronix, Inc. develops and markets the world’s lowest power consumption, highest optical performance flat panel display modules.

Boston Game Industry Scores at MIT BiG Conference 04/20/2010

Friday, April 16th, MBBP Co-Sponsored the second annual MIT Sloan Business in Gaming (BiG) Conference boasting nearly 300 attendees at the Microsoft N.E.R.D. Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The conference was broken into eight different panel discussions including topics such as “Gaming Companies Financial Analytics” and “Hollywood, Music and Gaming.” Some of the panelists included executives from three MBBP clients: Brian Balfour, VP of Product Marketing from Viximo, Eduardo Baraf, Director of Blue Fang Games, and Eitan Glinert, Founder of Fire Hose Games, as well as former Red Sox pitcher and current Founder and Chairman of 38 Studios, Curt Schilling.
A post-conference reception was hosted by the MIT New England Games SIG, of which MBBP’s Mike Cavaretta is chairperson.
Viximo Welcomes New CEO 01/11/2010

MBBP client Viximo hired Dale Strang as its new CEO. Viximo provides white-label virtual goods selling software for media publishers, including micro-payments, virtual currency, analytics and virtual-goods content. With over 13 years experience in the industry, Strang previously held an executive position at IGN Entertainment, a company known for its online reviews of new videogames, and led the company to more than 300% revenue growth in two years.
