On March 1st MBBP client Vivox, Inc. announced the opening of a Boston office in the up-and-coming Innovation District. The expansion will include both a new space and the hiring of engineering and product development staff as part of its aggressive growth strategy resulting from an increased market and demand for Vivox’s high quality social communication services. Vivox CEO and Co-Founder, Rob Seaver, had this to say of the annoucement:

Vivox Partners with German Game Portal Bigpoint 02/12/2010

A few days ago MBBP client Vivox, Inc. announced it entered into a partnership with German company Bigpoint, the largest German gaming portal and one of the top 3 gaming portals worldwide. The partnership will allow Bigpoint’s 100 million members to use Vivox’s voice chat platform by providing Vivox’s technology to their community members, advancing social networking capabilities and enhancing game play across the catalogue of Bigpoint games.

Registration is now open for the MITEF New England Games SIG and New England Venture Capital Association event: A Meeting of the Minds: Game Companies and the VC’s that Fund Them. The event will feature a panel of venture capitalists and executives from companies in the game industry (including MBBP client Vivox) who will discuss their perspectives on the current state of the game industry. Wade Roush, chief correspondent for Xconomy.com, will moderate the event while helping to answer a number of questions for attendees.
