MBBP client Blue Fang Games, LLC, An independent game developer focused on the design and development of social, online and mobile game platforms, has entered into a license and service agreement with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, an educational and trade publisher. This agreement allows Blue Fang Games to develop, host, and publish Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?” and “The Oregon Trail” properties.
MBBP serves as counsel to Blue Fang Games, and advised it in connection with the structuring, negotiation and documentation of this transaction.

MBBP client Blue Fang Games, LLC has been nominated for the First Annual Game Developers Choice Online Awards in the category of Best Online Game Design for their social networking game Zoo Kingdom. Conduit Labs, the only other Massachusetts-based company nominated, is vying for the Best Audio for an Online Game Award with their game Music Pets. The awards will take place Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 6 pm at the Austin Convention Center in Texas.

Friday, April 16th, MBBP Co-Sponsored the second annual MIT Sloan Business in Gaming (BiG) Conference boasting nearly 300 attendees at the Microsoft N.E.R.D. Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The conference was broken into eight different panel discussions including topics such as “Gaming Companies Financial Analytics” and “Hollywood, Music and Gaming.” Some of the panelists included executives from three MBBP clients: Brian Balfour, VP of Product Marketing from Viximo, Eduardo Baraf, Director of Blue Fang Games, and Eitan Glinert, Founder of Fire Hose Games, as well as former Red Sox pitcher and current Founder and Chairman of 38 Studios, Curt Schilling.
A post-conference reception was hosted by the MIT New England Games SIG, of which MBBP’s Mike Cavaretta is chairperson.

Scott Triola, COO of Blue Fang, believes that social network gaming is a growing part of the future of the industry. This venture makes Blue Fang the first traditional game development studio to use their expertise on a social site like Facebook.

The Children’s Technology Review (CTR), a monthly consumer report dedicated exclusively to children’s technology products, has awarded its Editor’s Choice Award to World of Zoo, a hands-on interactive game developed by MBBP client Blue Fang Games. The award is given to only the highest quality children’s interactive media products. World of Zoo allows children to create their own successful zoo by building relationships and caring for many different animals in a virtual world on multiple platforms.
