US Employment Attorney Robert M. SheaAs flu season approaches, employers should consider measures to respond to the threats presented by the 2009 H1N1 flu. On August 19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) released a new guidance recommending actions that non-healthcare employers should take now to decrease the spread of seasonal flu and 2009 H1N1 flu in the workplace. I have been wondering how employers would handle sick time policies with regards to H1N1. It’s great that the CDC has provided guidelines. It will be interesting to see whether employers take advantage of them.
